Since suffering a stroke, 86-year-old Juan can still walk with some help but can no longer provide food for himself and his wife. They live in a Nicaraguan village called Presilla with their two grown
children.
Though their daughter takes care of her parents, she cannot help earn a living as she has vision problems and other limitations. Silvio, their son, works part time cleaning land with his machete. He usually earns at least $2.75 a day when he can find work.
CAM supporters make it possible for Juan and his family to receive a monthly food parcel through the Adopt-A-Family program. They said, “This parcel is a great help and blessing. It has helped us a lot. It gives us at least 15 days of food. We thank God for those who help us in this way.”
