Next month, Christians will celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Christians, who were once sinners, are rejoicing in the glorious victory of Jesus who has the keys of hell and death. “The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up” (Matthew 4:16). Jesus brought salvation and now reigns victorious. The kingdom of God will have no end. Two thousand years later, sinners are still entering the kingdom of God through the precious blood of Jesus. Our phone team members share the glorious works of Jesus with callers daily.
Christian Aid Ministries’ billboards present messages the Holy Spirit uses to reach atheists, agnostics, backsliding Christians, and genuine Christians. These billboards offer truth from the Holy Bible to millions of people every day.
It takes between 5 and 7 seconds to read a billboard, while the message silently speaks. Biblical billboards awaken an awareness of God, convict sinners, and encourage believers. Some viewers cannot forget these messages.
The atheist reads billboards like There is evidence for God and In the beginning God created. The agnostic reads Are you preparing to meet Jesus? and Who is Jesus? Read Matthew’s Gospel. The backsliding Christian reads Real Christians obey Jesus’ teachings and Losing faith in God? The genuine Christian might read Beyond reasonable doubt, Jesus is alive and begin praising God for this truth.
Some Christians call our billboard number and say they are losing their faith. Evelyn* was distraught about her experience with Christians. Our team member listened as she told her story while weeping.
Evelyn shared how she grew up in a Christian home, and as an adult, was “trying to be a Christian by going to church and all that.” Evelyn separated from her husband in 2018. He came back into her life in 2024 and tried to get back together. Evelyn told her husband that she didn’t want to go through what she did in the past. He promised not to talk about divorce or breaking up. She took him at his word because he claimed to be a Christian.
“It turned out to not be true,” Evelyn stated. “After all that, he still wanted a divorce. Everything was just bad.” Even though she viewed marriage as sacred, they divorced in May 2025.
Another man, whom she knew before her husband came into her life, tried to befriend her again. After the divorce, she began talking to this friend. He presented himself as a safe person, pretended to be a Christian, and talked about commitment. But Evelyn said, “He violated so many of my boundaries.”
So many people in Evelyn’s life didn’t live out the Christian faith, including people from her church. She told our team member she was struggling with God’s love and felt like she couldn’t trust God or people. “What’s the point of it all?” she asked.
Compassionately, our team member began to respond. “What you have seen in Christianity is not the true Christianity of Jesus Christ . . . Had the person been what the Scriptures recommend for a husband, you would not have this discouragement.” He continued, “Unfaithfulness to Christ, especially in a marriage, really does bring confusion and hurt. . . . Don’t let it turn your face away from the true Christianity of the Bible.”
Our team member encouraged Evelyn to immerse herself in the Scriptures and in a relationship with the Lord Himself, Jesus Christ. He quoted Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God . . . and all these things shall be added unto you.” Our brother also quoted 1 John 1:9 to help her with the feeling that she had failed in some way.
Evelyn said she knows fathers and husbands are supposed to mirror God’s love. But because she didn’t experience that, she really struggles with trusting people and God. Our team member offered to arrange a female mentor for Evelyn and sent literature to help her. At the end of the call, our brother prayed for her. Let’s remember Evelyn in prayer.
