“Good evening, I’m Pastor Ernest with (83) FORTRUTH speaking from Alaska. Where would you be calling from today?”
“I am in San Diego, California. . . . I have a problem with sin. I feel like I cannot stop. I have a real problem with using drugs. I curse and I hang out with gangsters. Is it going to affect my salvation? I don’t think so, but I just want to hear it from someone.”
“Well, when Jesus was conceived in the virgin Mary’s womb, an angel spoke to her and said, ‘You shall call his name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’ He didn’t come to save us so we could keep sinning. He came to save us from our sins.”
Ernest prayed with Adam* and texted him some Bible resources. The next morning Ernest was delighted to receive this text from Adam:
“That prayer you did for me saved me and my family from a path of destruction. I made the decision that night with my wife to get sober and repent. I feel I am finally ready to live the Christian life, and I’m excited to see what God’s real plan for me is.”
