Aylin* is a mother who lives with her two children in a small concrete apartment in Tajikistan. Her husband hasn’t lived at home since he left the area to find work.
Four years ago, Aylin’s neighbor received new clothes donated by CAM supporters. Curious, she asked her neighbor where they got them. They told her people were giving away clothing to others in need.
When Aylin arrived at the clothing distribution, she couldn’t believe it. The Christians distributing the clothes told her, “It is help from God; just praise the Lord!”
Through this connection, Aylin began interacting with these believers and attending church. She was continually amazed at their regard for women. She explained how she could never be involved in religious affairs at the mosque because she was a woman.
“These people actually help women, respect them, and let them be involved,” she said. When Aylin’s family and friends found out that she started going to church, she testified, “They tell me I am on the wrong path, but I know God and I know I am doing the right thing.”
