One of the poorest countries receives donated clothing

South Sudan, the world’s newest country, was established in 2011 after a terrible war that lasted more than 20 years. It is also one of the world’s poorest countries, with many people living on less than $1 per day.

Basic items like food and clothing are scarce in this country. Having only one set of clothes, or none, is not unusual. In fact, it is common for people to have only a piece of cloth to wrap around themselves. CAM sent clothing to South Sudan for the first time in 2016, and has sent several more sea containers since then. These shipments have blessed many South Sudanese with something to wear.
