Volunteers put sheathing on this new house after wildfire destruction in Oregon.

Restoring Homes and Hope

Hurricane Helene caused massive destruction when it made landfall in September 2024. Rapid Response Services did cleanup in the immediate aftermath and following months. Since then, two Disaster Response Services bases were set up in Georgia and Florida to rebuild and fix homes through the winter season.

Three other bases in Oregon, Louisiana, and Texas are coordinating rebuilding projects in areas affected by wildfires or hurricanes. After Disaster Response Services rebuilt Trevor’s* home in Oregon that was destroyed by a wildfire, he said, “I didn’t think there’d ever be a house here. It was such a blessing. The first night I slept here, I was pinching myself to make sure this was actually real.”
