As Hurricane Milton moves toward Florida’s Gulf Coast, memories of Hurricane Helene are still vivid in the minds of Florida’s people. This storm is estimated to make landfall late tonight and into early Thursday morning as a Category 4 hurricane.
Tropical storm-force winds extend up to 125 miles from the center of Hurricane Milton. Hurricane warnings cover much of central Florida and various tropical storm watches and warnings cover parts of Georgia and the Carolinas. Fifteen-foot-high storm surges are predicted with over 8 inches of rain across the Tampa Bay area. It is possible that tornados could magnify the storm’s destructive potential.
Currently, CAM is monitoring the storm and will try to help as time and resources allow. Pray for wisdom for CAM personnel as they try to decide where and how to help. Also pray that through this time of need, people’s hearts would be drawn to God.
