The 2024 Kenya rainy season has quickly turned into a soggy nightmare as hundreds of homes have been damaged or destroyed by flooding. On the night of April 29, the village of Ruriu was destroyed in a matter of a few minutes. A torrent rushed through low-lying areas sweeping people, animals, and vehicles along with it. The overflowing rivers have emptied into Lake Victoria, spreading the shoreline and submerging homes.
