This Romanian widow lives in almost constant agony. It’s painful for her to move around during the day, and a struggle to fall asleep at night. Despite this pain, Mariorara walks to church every Sunday. She says she can’t live without going to church!
Mariorara carries the weight of caring for two grown sons: one is mentally handicapped, and the other suffers from a terminal illness that leaves him bedfast. She struggles to care for them with only a small pension and her relentless pain.
Food parcels provided by Help for the Elderly supporters are a bright spot in Mariorara’s difficulties. No, they can’t remove her pain or heavy load. But they are a reminder of the constant presence of God, the One she longs to meet soon.
