Thousands of disabled or handicapped people around the world face humiliation and rejection. Many people who suffer from cerebral palsy or other disabilities are abandoned by family and shunned by society. Some children are hidden away because of their special needs. Parents are sometimes ashamed to carry their handicapped children in public. Other impoverished parents long to care for their disabled loved ones, but struggle to put food on the table, much less provide things as costly as a wheelchair.
Much of the world seems to have forgotten the desperate needs of these precious people, but God has not. The practical gift of a wheelchair restores mobility and dignity to these often-forgotten people.
