For more than 70 years, Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, has endured civil unrest. Since February 2021, the military has been attacking minority groups with the intent of taking over their land. The fighting has displaced more than 3 million people. Many have fled to Thailand and other neighboring countries for safety while others have hidden deep in the jungle.
When asked what their greatest needs are, refugees responded, “We just need rice; if we have rice, we can survive.” Refugees brim with gratitude for the rice, fish, cooking oil, salt, and other supplies our contacts deliver through your support, but these items cannot fulfill their greatest need—to know the Savior. Countless people in Myanmar follow the teachings of Buddha and know little about Jesus. With the help of supporters, contacts can put Bibles and Bible story books into the hands of searching souls. Please pray that God will touch lives and penetrate hearts as they read and hear the stories of Jesus.
