Visiting a Liberian School

Step with us into Hope Mennonite School in Liberia, West Africa. Here, students from kindergarten through eighth grade have the privilege of attending a Christian school where the day begins with chapel. After chapel, we visit the second-grade classroom. As we enter the classroom, the students stand up and say a long, drawn-out chant.

“Good morning visitors, how are you this morning?”

We reply, “We are well, thank God. How are you?”

They respond, “Very well, thank you. God will bless you.”

It is time for reading class, and we stay to listen. We enjoy hearing the children read, knowing that through the support of their sponsors, they are able to have a Christ-centered education.

Along with supporting more than 200 students in Liberia, International Sponsor-A-Student supports a small church school in Romania, provides quality schooling for needy children in Belize, and enables children from Christian homes in the Middle East to attend schools where they will not face discrimination.
