Freed from the shackles of communism, the church in Ukraine has enjoyed an era of religious freedom for the past 30 years. But at the same time, materialism, individualism, and other Western influences are working to stifle church growth. The ongoing war has reignited an interest in God’s Word and increased physical needs. Orthodox Christians and nonbelievers alike need to see a genuine faith that “clothes the naked, comforts the sorrowful, gives to the hungry food, and shelters the destitute.”
