The last decade brought a dramatic increase of displaced people around the world. The number of people who fled their homes due to conflict, famine, and persecution nearly doubled from 40 million to almost 80 million. Refugees in the Middle East, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ivory Coast, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and other places seek safety for themselves and their families. Innocent people—parents, children, and the elderly—have fled their homes, bringing little with them. Many depend entirely on the mercy of others.
Supporters’ funds provide food, emergency aid, Christian literature, and other help to refugees and other people impacted by conflict and other causes of displacement. Your compassion causes recipients to stop and ask, “Who provided this help? Why did they do it? Why are Christians helping us?” This, in turn, is pointing many to the Light.
