Victor and Ana from Romania received this comforter nearly 20 years ago. Raising a family of eight children and leading the local church brought challenges. Victor struggled at times to keep their family’s needs covered. The gift of a comforter provided warmth and served as a tangible reminder of compassion during those hard times.
Ana still cherishes this blanket and stores it carefully to make it last. Even their grandchildren like the comforter and say it is not too hot or too cold. The couple’s godly vision is carried on by their son-in-law, who serves as a pastor and stays in contact with CAM about needs and opportunities in the area. Winter is a vastly different reality for needy families like Victor’s in Romania and other Eastern European countries than for most of us in America. Winter brings fewer job opportunities and lower income, as well as a new set of expenses. Many families heat only a few rooms to keep costs down. The gift of a thick comforter is one way to take the edge off the bitter cold.
