A Gift of Dignity for an Amputee Father

Waleed* arrived at a Syrian hospital with an infection in his legs that had turned gangrenous. To save his life, the doctors had no choice but to amputate both legs above the knees.

Despite his limitations, Waleed strives to provide for his wife and two daughters. Every morning, he wheels himself to a small street corner, where he sells biscuits to children. This brings in a meager income, barely enough to buy bread for his family.

With funds from supporters, CAM contacts provided this courageous father with high-quality adult disposable briefs. Waleed expressed his gratitude, saying, “These diapers are a gift I could never have dreamed of. Such quality   simply doesn’t exist here, and  they will make a big difference  in my daily life.” He continued, “My income is not even  enough to buy bread for the day. Medicine or diapers?
