How often have you considered the wealth of good, Christian literature available to you? Sunday school material, inspirational magazines, and good books for all ages are so abundant in our Anabaptist communities that at times it feels overwhelming. Few other people groups experience this gift to such a magnitude.
Christians in many other parts of the world long for wholesome literature. One of the areas CAM is helping to meet this demand is Venezuela, where spiritual openness has been created by economic and political upheaval. Mennonites who work in Venezuela started distributing literature from a table at a food kitchen. After sensing the demand, they expanded to provide 1,000 churches with Sunday school material, Bible correspondence courses, and other literature. One brother shared, “The doors for literature work in Venezuela continue to be wide open, and we try to do the little we can to quench the insatiable thirst in the country.” Believers in Romania, Ukraine, Moldova, and other Eastern European countries also have a huge need for Christian literature. To help fill this need, we distribute a large amount of literature when distributing aid. Books and magazines are shared with deliveries of seeds, milk, potatoes, food parcels, clothing, and other items. We also give this upbuilding literature to school groups and distribute it in public schools and libraries to impact children’s lives.
This program also provides literature for closed and restricted countries. The Martyr’s Mirror is being translated for use in a restricted part of the world where believers will be encouraged by the examples of others who suffered and died for their faith.
As we benefit from our abundance of Christian literature, let’s remember those who would love to have just a fraction of what lies on our bookshelves.
The Christian Literature program provides a variety of solid, Christian literature in various places around the world. Our 2025 budget for this program is approximately $1.3 million. If you would like to help, click Donate below to give a gift.
