“I Don’t Know Who Jesus Is”

“I Don’t Know Who Jesus Is”

“The Lord . . . is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9b).

When Lee* saw the CAM billboard with the message Beyond Reasonable Doubt, Jesus is Alive, he called us and said, “I don’t know who Jesus is. What does this billboard mean?” After our phone team member explained the birth of Christ and the plan of salvation, Lee asked, “How can I learn more about this Jesus?”

Lee’s call, along with thousands of other calls we receive each month, reveal that more and more Americans have almost no knowledge of God or the Bible. With the disintegration of the home and the waning influence of the church, many American young people are growing up without godly influences and almost no exposure to the Gospel message. If this trend continues, America will no longer be the country we have known it to be. Our children and grandchildren will grow up in a changed environment.

Sixteen-year old Stacey admitted she had never read the Bible and had not heard much about God. Andrew, another young caller, said, “I feel I am drifting from God. My college studies are making God smaller and smaller. I don’t know if I believe in God anymore.”

As believers, we know that “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” But how will these people “hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14, 17).

In America, we have a freedom to share the Gospel that Christians in many parts of the world only dream of. We can share without risk of arrest or torture. The door of opportunity to present Jesus and His Word on billboards is still wide open in our country! We don’t know how long this opportunity will last.

Since billboards are not typically used for Gospel messages, CAM’s billboards catch the attention of millions of people on America’s busy highways. The messages are awakening an awareness of God that society has tried to suppress.

Although millions see these Gospel messages every day, there are still many millions more who have never seen a Gospel billboard and know little, if anything, about God.

CAM has established excellent connections with our nation’s largest billboard companies, enabling us to obtain significant discounts. Based on the number of viewers and the rental cost of billboards, $1 allows 1,000 travelers to see a CAM billboard. Some of these travelers are repeat viewers, which only increases the impact.

If you would like to help post Gospel messages on billboards all over America, we are in need of sponsors and one-time donors. Above all, we need your prayers! Please pray for this outreach ministry and our dedicated phone team that speaks with many spiritually hungry Americans over the phone.
