English-speaking people have been able to read the Bible in their heart language for five hundred years, and most of us have numerous Bibles in our homes. But millions of people live and die without ever reading the Bible. Why? Because no one has translated the Bible into their native tongue. Today, 1,800 of the world’s 7,000 languages have no scripture at all.

All-Nations Bible Translation (ABT), a conservative Anabaptist organization that CAM supports, is responding to this need by facilitating Bible translation and church planting among unreached people groups. ABT has contact with people groups in Mexico, Southeast Asia, and West Africa who have little, if any, Scripture translated into their language. ABT staff are stationed in some of these areas and are working toward translating the Bible, a task that requires extensive groundwork and patient endurance.

Many people perceive God as distant, a foreigner in their culture. But when Scripture is first translated into their mother tongue, they have been known to exclaim, “God speaks my language!” A God who communicates in their heart language no longer seems like a stranger but someone they can learn to know and trust.

Please pray for those who toil to reach people groups that don’t have the Bible in their language. Pray that God’s Word would become available to those who have never heard!
