Eighty-year-old Amal,* a Palestinian woman in the West Bank, came scurrying down a hill to meet our staff who were delivering a new walker. Her old walker rattled over the bumps in the road as she hurried. It was as if she was worried she might lose the opportunity to get a new one.

Amal didn’t miss this chance. Our staff members were happy to give her the walker. “We could see Amal was delighted with her new walker,” wrote our staff member, “and her one good eye sparkled. Though her little house is dark and humble, she kept inviting us in for tea.”

Hope-for-the-Handicapped supplies food, wheelchairs, health kits, and other aid to disabled individuals, mental institutions, and homes for the elderly and handicapped.
