CAM contacts are distributing clothing, shoes, and blankets to displaced people inside Syria. One little girl was living with her mother and sister in miserable conditions. Her father had abandoned the family years ago.
“She was the poorest girl on our list,” our contact wrote. “I gave her a dress and a jacket. She was very happy and wondered who had sent it to her. She was even happier when I told her that Jesus had sent it to her.”
When the little girl wore her dress and jacket to visit relatives some time later, they asked how she could buy such a nice dress when the family suffers from poverty and need. “Jesus sent it to me,” the little girl replied.
As He so often does, God is using you as CAM supporters to minister His love and care to those who are suffering. “A lot of [displaced] people were in need of specific clothing items, and when we opened the bags for them to look through, they found what they needed [just] as if it was sent especially for them,” wrote the CAM contact.
Clothing is greatly appreciated not only in war-torn Syria but also in Romania, Ukraine, Nicaragua, Liberia, Belarus, and many other countries. CAM usually receives a sufficient amount of donated clothing, thanks to your generosity, but we are frequently in need of funds to get the items from our warehouses to other countries. It costs an average of $20,000 to ship a 40-foot sea container of clothing across the ocean and distribute it to the final recipients. A container holds about 42,000 pounds of clothing.
Thank you, donors, for sharing your blessings with those who are going through difficult times. As God uses your generous gifts to show His love, pray that many will come to know Him.
