On a Monday afternoon the Michigan Search & Rescue team received a call, saying that 14-year-old Jordan* was missing. They joined local authorities and search teams to find the missing teenager. Team members started searching Jordan’s
house, even though it had been combed thoroughly by the authorities. Soon they found him, safe and unharmed! It turned out Jordan had run to the neighbor’s house, only to return to his own house and crawl under the steps after it had been searched. Our team members encouraged this troubled young man and prayed with him. “Thank God for a good outcome to this search,” a team member rejoiced.
Sunday morning September 1, Logan,* his brother Austin, and their friend Kyle began kayaking on Salt Fork Lake in Ohio. The tranquility of the morning was shattered when Logan lost his balance, toppling into the water. Austin and Kyle jumped into the water to save him. An ODNR officer came along on his boat and managed to pull Austin safely out of the water. Kyle’s body was found a couple hours later. ODNR contacted the Ohio Search & Rescue team to help search for Logan’s body. Soon after the team arrived, they located him while scanning. They marked the location and a diver recovered the body. During the search, team members were able to spend time with Logan’s surviving brother Austin and their extended family. The family was amazed at the help they received. Logan’s family wrote, “May God continue to allow your hearts to continue the kindness that goes beyond words.”
On a beautiful Tuesday evening around 5:45, 83-year-old Mr. Nelson* wandered out of his home in Kansas. With dementia confusing him and Parkinson’s disease hindering his mobility, he ambled into a nearby cornfield. The Oklahoma Search & Rescue team was dispatched to help search for the missing grandfather. Several hours later, team members arrived in Kansas and started searching the large cornfield near Mr. Nelson’s home with a drone. Around 3:30 a.m. they located him, alive and coherent. How his family rejoiced at this amazing outcome!
