What were once safe dwelling places for people in Georgia are now piles of ruin strewn along the streets. On the afternoon of January 22, a tornado tore through a mobile home park in Adel, Georgia, leveling half of the 40 homes there. This was just one of a series of about 40 tornadoes that devastated dozens of communities and took at least 16 lives.
“This was a bad storm,” reported Andre Weaver, our Rapid Response director. The Georgia Rapid Response team sprang into action to research damages and help with cleanup. Our goal, as in all Rapid Response projects, is to show the love of Jesus to those who have suffered loss.
