Trees for a Healthier Haiti

How many trees are in your backyard? While we hardly think about the maples or oaks towering in our yards, many people in Haiti wish for more trees to reforest their desperately barren land. Without them, precious soil nutrients wash away and farmers struggle to raise their crops.

To help meet this need, CAM started the Grow-A-Tree program. Our workers start saplings at our nursery in La Source, Haiti, and then we give the saplings to Haitian families to plant on their own farm plots. Little by little, these trees help farmers grow healthier crops, provide food for needy families, and reforest barren areas of Haiti.
