Hope Despite an Uncertain Future

Multitudes of people have come to the U.S. to escape oppression, conflict, and economic hardship. In hopes of a better life, many enter with few or no possessions and face an uncertain future.

Shortly after arriving in the United States, Khalid* enrolled at the CAM-supported Lamp Post Learning Center in Sacramento, California, to study English. Khalid was placed in the beginning class, but he studied hard with hopes of acquiring his driver’s license so he would have a way of getting around. After several months of hard study, Khalid finally received his license. To celebrate Khalid’s accomplishments, the staff made a cake.

Ministry to migrants is a way to be the hands and feet of Jesus in reaching out to the “stranger” as commanded in Scripture. Thousands, like Khalid, have no one to walk alongside them in a strange land. Pray that the migrant ministry work could bless and encourage people like Khalid and draw them closer to the One who knows their future.
