Many elderly people in Romania, Liberia, Kenya, and other impoverished countries have no one to care for them. Their children often leave for job opportunities, and many elderly spend day after day alone. Loneliness, coupled with the struggle to pay for housing, food, and other costs, leaves many discouraged and distressed in their older years. Some beg on the streets or try to sell a little something for income.

Through the Help for the Elderly program, supporters provide monthly food parcels for needy elderly people. This lifeline of support is a source of encouragement and a reminder that someone cares.

A $59 donation provides a 25-pound or larger parcel and $10 cash or its equivalent in food items. In many cases, a Christian family magazine is also included.
