Chickens are highly valued in many developing countries. They don’t require much feed and are a helpful source of income or food. Chicken eggs and meat provide healthy food for adults and growing children.

In Kyrgyzstan, Vlad and Marina Lebedev received assistance through CAM contacts to buy chickens and feed. The chickens provide a source of protein for their 12 children. Vlad expressed their gratitude: “Thank you for your help in purchasing chickens. May God bless you in your work.”

The demand for chickens in various countries is high, and more than 35,000 could be used this year. On average, a chicken and some feed costs $8, bringing this year’s funding need for chickens to $280,000. The chickens will be distributed in countries like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Romania, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.
