Romania: Elderly Romanians are extra lonely and vulnerable during the coronavirus lockdown. A staff member who delivered milk and bread to the elderly and needy families said one elderly widow could hardly believe that someone cared enough to assist her in the midst of this crisis.

Liberia: CAM is providing food, Christian literature, and hygiene items to vulnerable communities and slums in Liberia. A Liberian pastor shared, “The people are desperate for food. When we give them rice they call it gold dust.”

Nepal: Many impoverished people in Nepal had to skip meals during quarantine because they didn’t have enough food. Our contact said, “We had been praying to God for the suffering of these poor church members and villagers. And our God who is full of love and compassion heard our prayer through your ministry partners to purchase food items and distribute them to poor families.”

USA: CAM responded to needs in the USA by providing food for people in inner cities. Earlier in the crisis, supporters helped provide meals and masks for medical workers. One nurse said she had chills when she went through her lunch and saw how neatly everything was put together. She said, “So much feeling went into these lunches by the volunteers who packed them.”

Malawi: A recent food distribution in Malawi brought relief to many orphans and their caregivers. Our contacts said, “These caregivers and guardians go to work to provide for their families, and mostly they just have enough for a day . . .” With lockdowns in the country, the food from CAM enables these orphans and their caretakers to eat at regular mealtimes.

Bangladesh: After the Bangladesh government deployed the military and armed police force to impose lockdowns, the number one fear among the people was hunger. This woman and her husband survived on one meal per day, which was usually plain rice. She became emotional after receiving food from CAM. She said, “I am so happy that after twenty-one days, my family will have a proper meal.”

Myanmar: Many people from Myanmar fled their farms several months ago to escape conflict in the country. Now coronavirus has put them in even more desperate situations. CAM is providing food for suffering people in Myanmar.

Each preventative kit includes a bucket with a faucet, a bar of soap, chlorine solution, four face masks, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper.

Kenya: Many Kenyans were struggling to provide for themselves because of COVID-19. Then people in western Kenya experienced severe flooding that destroyed homes and crops. At a recent food distribution, a staff member shared, “There were smiles of joy and gratitude behind the masks.”
