Comforter Project

CAM receives thousands of cozy, handmade comforters from sewing groups and individuals each year. These comforters are in high demand around the world and help bring warmth and cheer to those in need. Although the comforters are donated, funds are needed to ship them to their final destinations.

Where are CAM comforters distributed?

  • Cold-climate countries. In countries like Romania and Ukraine, families and elderly people often struggle to heat their homes. To help take the edge off the cold, they don several layers of clothing and wrap up in blankets.
  • Warm-climate countries. Even in tropical countries, such as Nicaragua and Liberia, some parts of the year can be damp and chilly, especially rainy season. Comforters also make soft mats for people who don’t have beds.
  • The Middle East. Comforters are desperately needed for refugees living in tents and old, abandoned houses. Many refugees face cold, damp winters without adequate shelter. A warm comforter is a great blessing!

CAM can use up to 100,000 comforters each year for those in need.

If you have a new comforter you would like to donate, please drop it off at any CAM location or ship it to our Indiana Clothing Center at Christian Aid Ministries, 660B. S. Van Buren St., Shipshewana, IN 46565.

Funds are needed to ship donated comforters to various countries. If you wish to help, use the donate option below.
