Renee* wept as she poured out her troubles to our Billboard Evangelism phone team member. “I really feel lost in my life,” she cried. “I lost my daughter because of drug use, and my mom adopted her. I still feel the pain from that. At times, I am so depressed that I despair of life.”
Renee knew little about God and the Bible but was desperate for help. She asked the question that is burning in the hearts of thousands, if not millions, of Americans—“How do I go about getting my life straightened out?” This question provided an opportunity for our team member to teach Renee about repentance and obedience to Christ. She seemed eager for help as she drank in his advice.
Did Renee make the life-changing decision to follow Jesus after she got off the phone? We don’t know. But we do know that she encountered Truth and will need to decide whether to reject it and continue her journey of sorrow or embrace it and experience the peace of walking with Jesus. Pray for Renee!
