Flooding in Pakistan and Afghanistan Update

Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other parts of Asia are enduring the worst flooding they have experienced in decades. Millions have fled their homes for higher ground, wading through feet of water while carrying children and a few possessions. Walls and roofs have collapsed in the churning waters. Fields and villages have become lakes of muddy water. The number of deaths is hard to determine, but our contacts say “thousands have died.”

Prayer needs

A CAM contact says that he is seeking prayers for flood victims “more than anything else.” Please pray for the Pakistan and Afghanistan flooding situation in several ways:

  • For families and individuals who are reeling from the loss of home, livelihoods, possessions, and loved ones.
  • For protection against water-related diseases like diarrhea and malaria.
  • That food, clean water, and other aid would reach stranded people in remote areas.
  • That flood victims would turn to God who is “a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm” (Isaiah 25:4).

We are working with trusted contacts to assist with needs that are arising from the flooding in Pakistan and Afghanistan. If you would like to help, please see below.
